A ... no more B ... than C ~ D ~

C가 D 하지 않는 것처럼 A는 B 하지 않는다.

ex) A whale is no more a fish than a horse is (a fish).

I can no more swim than a stone can.

돌이 수영을 못 하는 것처럼 나는 수영을 못한다.

I cannot swim any more than a stone can.

('not ~ any more than')

참고) 'no = not ... any'

Just as a stone cannot swim, so I cannot swim.

우리가 가난한 가정에서 태어났다는 사실이 우리에게 우리의 가정을 배반할 권리를 주지 않는 것처럼 우리가 가난한 나라에서 태어났다는 사실이 우리에게 우리의 나라를 배반할 권리를 주지 않는다.

(The fact that we were born in a poor nation does not give us) a right to betray our company any more than does the fact that we were born in a poor family give us a right to betray our family.

(Just as) the fact that we were born in a poor family does not give us a right to betray our family, so does the fact that we were born in a poor nation not give us a right to betray our country.
